In this hot weather, water offers a nice reprieve. Whether you want to be on it or in it, we have a few suggestions for both options.
Lunch with a lake view

The Aegerisee Schiff offers both a beautiful setting and if you would like, a wonderful culinary experience, where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. Why we love it in short … it really makes entertaining easy, you just get aboard and have lovely experience, which could be dinner, apero or lunch, a fun 2 – 3 hours appreciated by young, old and in-betweens.
Offers: There are several culinary experiences held at various times of the day. There are also disco evenings and themed cruises for younger patrons. Booking is needed, and menus for the various offerings can be found on their website.
Food options: Restaurant
How to reach: Most experience cruises i.e. including food, require you to board in Unterägeri or Oberägeri. As majority of us live in one of these two areas, then foot is the best suggestion. For public transport the closest stops are Seefeld, Unterägeri, and then a 300m walk or Fischmatt and Station in Oberägeri. Both stops also have parking nearby, so it is easy to park your car at Parkplatz Theresiapark or Parkplatz Seeplatz.
Good for family: Yes
Good for older visitors: Yes
Wheelchair access: Yes. We recommend boarding at the following jetties Unterägeri, Oberägeri and Hotel Morgarten. The Schiff can be contacted in advance if you have additional questions.

Nass side hike, bike, boat ride, grill and swim

For the more adventurous families who need more than just one activity, then Nass offers you the package deal. Naas is the Schiff stop at the end of the lake, set along the Seeweg. Why we love it in short … it offers multiple activities all in close proximity.
Offers: Along the Seeweg, at the start where you enter the forest, there is a great grill spot and swimming area with a small beach (affectionally known by expats as Bondi). The Seeweg between the Nass Schiff stop and the grill spot is about 1.5 km of flat gravel road. This can easily be navigated as a short hike. So, you could catch the ferry to Naas and then hike to the grill spot for a bite to eat and a swim. For the more adventurous or longer-legged among us, multiple hikes in the area lead you past Naas. There is also the possibility of riding a bike to the Grill spot from the Wilbrunnen side, then grilling and swimming.
Food options: Bring your own
How to reach: Catch the Schiff to Naas and then walk. Walk or bike from the Wilbrunnen side.
Good for family: Yes
Good for older visitors: Yes if they are happy walking on gravel.
Wheelchair access: No

Other fun water activities can be pedalo and SUP hires. This is also something that may be more appealing to older children. In Oberaegeri, these can be hired at Seebeizli Studenhütte. If you want to go further, you can also hire these and a variety of boats in Zug. A good recommendation of something to do with guests is hire a self-captained Pontoon Boat, take your own drinks and snacks, and enjoy a few hours on the lake - https://www.bootsvermietungzug.com/
