About Jody
Hi, I’m Jody - community builder, experience creator, outdoor lover, and proud mom of three.
I was born in the United States, married a third-culture husband, and moved to London after we got married. Even though I spoke the language, I quickly learned that understanding a culture goes far beyond words. It was in London that I first saw the importance of connection, curiosity, and community when building a life somewhere new.
Then came Switzerland - and it was a whole different challenge. I arrived in the Ägeri Valley in 2010 with small children and no German. Suddenly, I had to learn both the language and the culture from scratch. And even after more than 10 years of language classes, I still face moments of struggle. But my love for people and my belief in the power of community keeps me going and keeps me passionate about helping others find their way too.
With a background in building communities and a lifelong love of bringing people together, I started Ägeri High Heels in 2012 as a way to connect with others and support international families. What began as a small social group has grown into a trusted, welcoming space for women and families living in the valley and now, through We Can We Do We Care, into something even more.
As an adventure racer and outdoor enthusiast, I also create experiences across Switzerland from hikes and retreats to birthdays and team-building, all designed to help people pause, connect, and make memories together.
Everything I offer comes from a place of lived experience, deep empathy, and real joy in helping people feel at home in themselves and in their new surroundings.
