Key Takeaways from the Evening
Different AI tools have different strengths — there is no “one tool for everything.”
AI is becoming more like a digital assistant or teammate, not just a chatbot.
Source-checking and privacy are becoming increasingly important.
AI can save huge amounts of time with admin, presentations, marketing, and research.
The future is moving toward AI agents that complete tasks independently.
The Learnings from Tonight’s Meeting
1. Choose the Right AI Tool for the Right Job
One of the clearest themes tonight was that different AI platforms excel in different areas.
Examples shared:
Perplexity → excellent for research because it provides sources you can verify.
Claude → strong for admin, strategic thinking, writing, and building AI agents.
ChatGPT → useful for brainstorming and challenging creativity.
NotebookLM → ideal for learning, presentations, podcasts, and studying your own material.
Copilot/OpenClaw → powerful for presentations and automation.
The takeaway: learning which tool to use when is becoming an important skill.
2. AI Is Becoming a Personal Assistant
People are no longer just asking AI questions — they are giving it ongoing responsibilities.
Examples included:
AI checking and drafting emails
Managing calendars
Completing admin tasks
Creating marketing schedules
Running workflows through Telegram
Building AI “agents” that complete tasks automatically
The discussion highlighted how AI is shifting from “assistant” to “operator.”
3. Source Quality and Trust Matter
Several speakers emphasized the importance of checking information and controlling sources.
Interesting insights:
Perplexity shows its references.
NotebookLM only works with the material you upload, which makes it easier to trust and verify outputs.
AI can review contracts and documents, but humans still need oversight.
A strong reminder: AI is powerful, but users still need critical thinking.
4. AI Can Support Learning in Personalised Ways
The education-focused discussion showed how AI can adapt learning styles and create interactive experiences.
Ideas shared:
Reading simple books to support language learning
Using tools like Bubble/Bouzo as alternatives to Duolingo
NotebookLM creating:
podcasts
quizzes
mind maps
presentation summaries
Talking directly with AI to practice or review concepts
AI is making learning more conversational and customised.
5. Privacy, Permissions, and Boundaries Are Important
As AI agents become more autonomous, the conversation naturally moves toward safety and control.
Important points raised:
Claude can act on your behalf if given permission.
Users should carefully control access levels.
Telegram is often preferred over WhatsApp for AI integrations because it only requires an email address.
Even when automating tasks, users should remain “the boss” and maintain oversight.
The overall feeling was excitement, but also caution around data, privacy, and autonomy.
A final theme from the evening: AI works best when you start with a strategy first. Define the problem, your workflow, or your goal, then choose the AI tools that support it.
