Light Art in the Ägerital (Lichtkunst im Ägerital)

Opening night: Friday, 30 October at 18:00

Running for several weeks from 30 October

Location: Various locations across Oberägeri and Unterägeri

This one is something a little different, and a lovely excuse to get outside on an autumn evening. Artist Chrigu Barmettler transforms the Ägerital into a landscape of light, with his distinctive light figures projected onto facades and into spaces across seven locations in Oberägeri and Unterägeri.

Created using analogue light sources and overhead projectors, the figures move slowly, shift with the surfaces they land on, and take on a quality that feels almost alive. The choice of analogue technique is deliberate, and you notice it. The projections carry a mood somewhere between lightness and melancholy, humour and wonder, and what you make of them is entirely your own.

You can stumble across them on an evening walk, or plan your own route to connect all seven. Either way it is worth going more than once.
