​The weather’s warmer, everything’s opening up again, and there’s that shift where you just want to be outside by the lake, up in the mountains, or anywhere that doesn’t involve being indoors.

This month is all about getting out and about and making it easy for you to do just that. We’re focusing on simple, go-to ideas you can actually use. We’re featuring grill pits and local mountain restaurants around the Ägeri Valley that you can drive to, hike to, or bike to, along with walks you can do with your family or friends. Some are super easy, others are a bit more of an adventure, but all are worth knowing about.

Mother’s Day weekend in particular is packed this year. One of the biggest events is the Schwingfest Oberägeri, happening right here in the valley. It’s a fantastic Swiss tradition to experience, but it will also mean things are busy and lively around town.

The good news… the weather is looking like it’s on our side. So whether you want to be part of the buzz or prefer to head somewhere a little quieter, this guide has you covered. You might choose to lean into the atmosphere, or escape it completely with a day out, think a scenic walk followed by lunch at a mountain restaurant or a relaxed afternoon at one of the beautiful grill spots.

If you’ve got visitors coming, this is also your go-to. These are the kinds of places that make for a great Swiss experience: fresh air, a bit of effort, and a really good lunch or dinner outside.
