You Know Summer Is Coming to an End When You Start Hearing the Word “Alpabzug”

You know summer is starting to come to an end in Switzerland when you begin hearing people talk about the cows coming down from the mountains. The name for the event is called - Alpabzug.  It is the traditional journey when cattle return from the high Alpine pastures where they have spent the summer grazing and are returning to the lower fields in the valley.
