Heading into the Woods? Know the Hunting Days

Hunting season is underway in Canton Zug, so before heading out for a walk, hike or bike ride, it’s worth knowing which days hunting can take place.

Don’t assume hunters will only be deep in the forest. You may encounter hunting activity close to walking and hiking paths as well as throughout the forest. Sometimes you may even see or hear the hunting dogs before you see the hunters.

A few simple precautions: Wear bright, visible colours when heading into the woods.

If you have a dog, keeping them on a lead is the safest option on hunting days. Stay aware of your surroundings and give hunters and hunting dogs plenty of space.

Check the hunting days before heading out, particularly during October and November.
