150 Members. Two Months Early.

This weekend, we welcomed our 150th member, and I genuinely had to stop for a moment and pinch myself. We reached the goal I had set for August 2026, two months early. I felt so overwhelmed with gratitude I didn't quite know what to do with myself.

When I launched the Ägeri High Heels Membership in August 2025, I wasn't chasing a number. I wanted to create something sustainable that would allow us to keep doing what we have always done best, helping families find their feet faster, integrate into local life, and feel genuinely part of the community.

Since 2012, I have watched friendships form, businesses grow, and strangers become lifelong friends. Women arrive in the valley knowing nobody and, within months, find themselves supported by people they can call for advice or simply a coffee and a chat.

What I have learned is that people don't just need information. They need connection. They need a place where they can ask questions without feeling silly, and people who truly understand what it feels like to navigate a new country, a new culture, a new language, a different school system, and sometimes an entirely new way of life. That journey of learning and adapting is something every member here understands, and that shared experience is what makes this community so special.

Every person who joins makes it richer for everyone else. One member may know the answer to a school question. Another recommends a trusted local business. Someone else welcomes a newcomer at an event, or introduces two people who become the best of friends. Community works because everyone contributes, and in this one, people do, every single day.

What also fills me with pride is seeing the role this community is beginning to play in the wider valley. Local organisations, schools, and businesses are reaching out wanting to connect and collaborate. There is a growing recognition that internationals are not simply living alongside the valley. We are part of it. We volunteer here, raise our families here, support local businesses, and help make this Ägeri the place we all have grown to love.

Strong communities don't happen by accident. They are built by people who choose to show up.

So today, I simply want to say thank you. Thank you for joining, for showing up, for welcoming newcomers, and for helping others feel at home. This milestone belongs to all of us. 🥂

Not part of the community yet?

If you are new to the valley, thinking about joining, or simply looking for a place to connect, we would love to welcome you. Ägeri High Heels helps families find their feet faster, navigate the beautiful complexity of life in Switzerland, and build connections that truly last.
