How the Iffälä Light Up Our December Nights

Whether you have seen them shining in a shop display or carried through the streets on December 5 in Oberägeri or Unterägeri, the Iffälä are hard to miss. These beautiful lanterns have been part of the local Chlausrott tradition since the 1950s. As they pass by, they seem to take a little of the darkness with them and leave behind a gentle glow of warmth in the cold winter evening.
